About KV

THE GENESIS OF THE KV:

Kendriya Vidyalaya BSF Camp Chhawla New Delhi-71 was established on 20.08.1986 to cater the educational needs of the BSF employees in particular and of other Central Govt., State Govt., Autonomous Bodies and Public Sector Undertakings employees. In its infant age the school was run in tin sheds provided by BSF.

IMPORTANT MILESTONES OF GROWTH:

Since its inception till 2006 the school was being run in tin sheds with all difficulties and discomforts. But the year 2007 came as a Red Letter Day in the history of this KV when its own permanent and pacca building was constructed by KVS. on 7 acres of land on (permanent lease) came into existence and vidyalaya started functioning in the new building w.e.f. Jan-2007.

GRADUAL YEAR WISE EXPANSION IN CLASSES AND SECTIONS LEADING TO PRESENT STATUS:

Till academic session 1997-98, the vidyalaya was upto X standard. It was upgraded to a Senior Secondary school in the year 1998-99 with the introduction of Commerce Stream. The Science and Humanities streams were further introduced in the year 2007-08 on shifting of the vidyalaya in its own permanent building. As there is neither a good public school in this area nor there is any other Kendriya Vidyalaya in vicinity of 12 kms and above all mounting pressure of admission of Central Govt. employees, particularly of the para military forces, the KVS has upgraded this KV from two section KV to a three section KV with the year 2009. The construction of the class rooms and other rooms for the new sections is going on in the existing vidyalaya building.

FACILITIES AVAILABLE INCLUDING GAMES AND SPORTS :

The Basket Ball Ground, Kho-Kho Ground, Volley Ball Ground, two Badminton Court and a Kabbadi Ground has been devloped by M.P. Housing Board (Construction Agency) in the session 2009-10. Some Finishing Touches are left
